A disciplina oportuniza o desenvolvimento de uma visão crítica e articulada dos conhecimentos acerca da diversidade de insetos vetores por meio da apresentação de conteúdos de filogeografia, paleogeografia e biologia molecular. Nessa perspectiva estuda a origem e dispersão de Triatomíneos, Flebotomíneos e Anofelinos na Região Amazônica, com enfoque nos clados que contém representantes competentes na transmissão de Trypanosoma cruzi, Leishmania e Plasmodium, patógenos de importantes doenças tropicais. | |
